I am taking a break from writing fic to write a rant, masquerading as meta. This is not very well thought out, I admit, and I may come back to it at some point to change some points. I could do that before I post, but this is the Internets and I Do What I Want. This rant is definitely not treading any new ground. Don't expect any different ideas.
